How to Clean your Bathroom Quickly and Efficiently
Step 1. Take everything out of your bathroom. For the best results, complete this step for the entire bathroom at once rather than as you go. Take everything out of the shower and bathtub. Remove all used towels and rugs from the room. Remove anything from the counters outside the bathroom. Remember to collect any trash cans. Removing things from your bathroom creates a clean slate for cleaning.
Step 2. Sweep and dust. After everything has been removed from your bathroom, it’s time to dust. To remove dust, use a long-handled duster to remove cobwebs from corners, light fixtures, and vents. If you still can’t reach the cobwebs, bring in a stepladder. After that, sweep or vacuum the floors to remove any hair or debris that has accumulated.
Step 3. Apply cleaner to the shower and bathtub. The purpose of this step is to allow the cleaner to soak into your shower tiles. Leave for a couple of minutes before wiping away. If you clean your shower regularly, use an all-purpose cleaner; if you have a lot of buildups, use an acid-based cleaner. Remember the shower track and, if applicable, the inside of the shower door.
Step 4. Work on other surfaces. Wipe down any towel racks, shelves, baseboards, doors, blinds, and windowsills with the all-purpose cleaner and your cleaning device (microfiber cloth, sponge, etc.). To make this easier, work in sections from the ceiling to the floor and from left to right. This is a great home cleaning shortcut.
Step 5. Hit the shower and bathtub. Now that the cleaner has had time to soak scrubbing the dirt and buildup away will be easy. Before rinsing, clean all walls, floors, and other surfaces. After washing the tiles, return everything to the shower you removed in step 1.
Step 6. Clean the vanity area. Spray the sink, faucets, and countertops with the all-purpose cleaner, then wipe with a clean cloth. Use a scrubby sponge to loosen any buildup in the sink or soap dish before wiping clean. On your mirror, use the glass cleaner. Use a damp cloth to remove dust from cabinet faces. Return everything to your vanity after you’re done cleaning.
Step 7. Take care of the toilet. If you scrub the inside of your toilet regularly, the all-purpose cleaner should be enough. If there is a buildup, spray or sprinkle a toilet-specific cleaner on it, then scrub with a toilet brush before flushing. Wipe the outside of the toilet with a clean cloth after spraying it with an all-purpose cleaner.
Step 8. Clean the floor. Submerge your mop in the cleaning solution bucket, squeeze out excess water, and clean the bathroom floor. Replace the trash can and your freshly laundered rugs once the floor has dried. Return anything to the floor, and you’re done!
